Reel Purchasing Advice
Looking for suggestions in a reel for under $100 that would be good for predominately freshwater but also saltwater capabilities.
Would this work?

Also how much line/weight is appropriate for pier fishing?
Thanks!

That will work, loine capacity seems a little low for the sizes..
But if it were my money, I would go with a Penn or Shimano in the same price range.

I'll take a look. Which Shimano series?

Penn fierce 3000 or 4000. $60
I love a shimano reel but their smaller series of reels have really gotten cheap. Especially with the handles. I like a metal handle, not a bunch of plastic.

I still like my older Stradic and Spheros reels, but I would like to read some reviews on the Penn Pursuit ll. I've been seeing more and more on the pier lately. Penn Fierce seems a little under-rated to me and I've still not had any problems with my plain-jane Sargus.
