reel selection
So here i sit in Antarctica again playing online thinking about the fishing i will get to do when i get home and i remembered that my ultralight spinning reel that I used to catch bait and such at the pier crapped out on me, so its time to replace! it was a cheap walmart combo but i think i will step it up a little this time.
I am looking at the Battle (including the Battle II) and the Fierce. My quandary is what size do i want? I am just going to use this as a Bait rod and some fishing in the Lagoon as well as pull freshwater duty when i am not down there... i have no idea what size reel i had before so i can't really go on that but what would be a good recommendation? the 1000, 2000, or 2500...
thanks for the help!

2500....heck my ribbon rig rod has a 5500 penn on it....good line take up and fast to minimize the fall offs back to the water

Thanks Ironman! i dont mind the slower take up even though i think the 2500 has around 30 inches per turn! i have a fierce 4000 and a battle 7000 or 8000 (i cant remember which one it is) and just enjoy the lighter smaller reel for bait fishing and the other things i will do with it i might make it a camping rig as well... i have collapsible 7 foot rod that i bought just to see what it was like haha so small and light weight will be even better for that as well
