Rookie Question for Ocean Access

Can anyone fill in a few questions regarding vehicles on the beaches and other "non-road" sections of the Bon Secour peninsula (mostly down by the far west end)?

1. I know there are no horses, mules, or motorized vehicles allowed in the refuge areas.
2. I know I can't drive or walk on the dunes.
3. Can I drive a 4WD truck from rented house to the beach if I stay off the dunes?
4. Can I drive an ATV on the beach?
5. Are the roads patrolled to keep ATVs off public roads?
6. Google earth shows a tracked road running into the refuge off Ft. Morgan Road (where Privateer Court bisects the road) . . . is this available for 4WD?

Basically, I'm trying to determine whether it's worth it to bring an ATV for my 11-yo to play on when not swimming/fishing.

Baldwin County Sheriffs patrol that area and if anyone reports an ATV on the road it will be cited.

The tracks you see are most likely law enforcement or turtle people.

Part of trail beside 180 is walk/bike trail. Most trails that are visible in Bon Secour National Wildlife preserve on Google Maps are walking or hiking trails. Be aware that on some walking trails, you will pass through areas that are home to alligators and most of the species endemic to that habitat. We think it is one the best places to watch Spring and Fall bird migrations on the gulf coast, especially when the fish aren't biting.
