Spanish Rod
I'm looking for a recommendation on some new rods for Spanish. They wil be used for casting X Raps, Gotchas and Looney Jigs. I have always used 7' medium action rods and feel like I should upgrade to 8' in length. As far as action goes I'm not sure. They will be paired with Battle II reels in both 3000 and 4000. Any suggestions on what to purchase?

I really like the rod that came with my 4000 Battle combo. It's a lightweight medium-fast 7 ft. rod. I know J&M tackle has comparable rods because I've bought a couple there, but can't recall the make right now and am too lazy to go out in the garage to look. These were in the $30-$40 range. You can spend more if you feel that it's necessary. IMHO an 8 ft. rod would be a little too much gun for spanish, but, on the other hand, it might facilitate getting your fish away from sharks. Tight lines.
