Figure 8 knots? So far the best I've found for mono to braid is the slim beauty knot, but I've never tied wire to braid or wire to mono. Is there a swivel involved?

I use 27# single strand, haywire twists on both ends, swivel on the end, uni-knot for attaching mono to swivel.

I use single strand for king and tie an Albright knot - no swivel, it's faster once you get used to tying the Albright.

Sorry, I didn't make myself perfectly clear----but, hey, I knew what I was talking about and you should have been able to read my mind. My wife can. I use the figure eight knots to tie the swivel to one end and the #2 treble hook to the other.

And that's braided wire I'm tying the knots in. I use the uni knot for most everything involving mono or braided line except when I'm tying an Albright knot to join my 50# Spanish leader to the line.

Wirespeak: "braided wire" = Sevenstrand wire ;-)
