Trolley Riggs
I was fishing at the pier last week and there were two guys Trolley fishing. (Two Lines) it is a great way to fish +++But++ I thought it was prohibited
at the Pier.
Just asking because it seems to be a great way to fish.
01. Is it now allowed even though it says one line only?
02. What happens when someone needs to move down the rail when fighting a fish?
Thanks in advance.

Technically they are still verboten. I would say they are being tolerated as long as there are not too many people doing it. If more people use them it will probably bring the issue to a head, especially if the bite gets hot.
Personally, I don't mind people doing it, but I won't as long as it is verboten.
Maybe they ought to be limited - like maybe to the upwind side of the draw (or octi?) to keep the conflicts to a minimum. On windy days the upwind side of the draw is almost unfished. There are days when I would like to do it myself. I've used the single line system and there is a lot of expensive tackle lost to sharks that way. The 6 oz. anchor weights cost $10 at Bass Pro and there is a fair amount of work in making your own.
