Hi, all:
I am in the middle of building a floating caddy to carry tackle, bait and other gear while wade fishing. I'm using 3/4" PVC, a ton of fittings, and big "noodles" that I got from Target on sale at the end of the summer. I'm about halfway finished, but still messing around with the design.
Does anyone out there have any pictures of their support floats that they want to share?

I simply use a floating bait bucket. Everything else goes in my pockets. Works for me!
I thought about using a cheap inflatable 2 man boat and putting a cooler and milk crate in it for beverages, fish, bait, tackle, extra spinning combo and towing a floating "flow troll" bait bucket with live shrimp or bull minnows for wading the lagoon. Then I realized how I already look like Jed Clampett driving down 65 with my cart, pier net, sandflea rake, slurp gun, rods and bait bucket. Then I thought about how much work it would be to get all that in the water only to get a pinto bean semi liquid belly bubble and have to evacuate to the john.
I know what you mean, Chillinfish. All that bubbling and "chumming" when you're wade fishing attracts the big predators!!
If you need that much of a caddie, you're really just a boat fisherman who is choosing to walk alongside. LOL
Seriously, the device I've seen that I liked best was a milk crate with 4 pool noodle sections zip-tied on the outside of the 4 sides at the top which is almost unflippable due to low center of gravity. Second choice was a cheap cooler inserted in a floating carrier (made for drifting down the river, you find these near rivers in the Ozarks for tubing): I liked this because of the pre=made status and price.
Midwestexile: You may have a point about just being a walking boat fisherman. I have used enough noodles on this caddy for it to qualify as a boat. I will post some pictures of the contraption as soon as I get it finished. We will be down at GS late on 10/14 and will try it out in the lagoon near Little Lagoon Pass.
Don't make it too big to transport.
Finally got the wade fishing caddy finished. It's 40" X 24" and comes apart for transport. There's plenty of space for everything that I want to carry, especially if I don't mind it getting a little wet on the bottom (like a drink cooler or cast net). Will drag a bait bucket and fish basket along behind it. My son and I should be getting into GS tomorrow night. We will be at the pier and also fishing Little Lagoon. If you see someone with a funny looking red and yellow float, it's probably us. Stop and say hello. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the pier. -Philip Sommers
