Not sure how much of this translates to the GSPPier, but the water coming into Perdido Pass from the gulf at high tide is 8 to 10 degrees cooler than that in the bay!
A dip similar to last month's 'upwelling' brought on by persistent westerly winds...

An upwelling that mixes deep water with the surface can change the temperature dramatically. When I started scuba diving I was surprised at the much colder water (thermocline) at depth a lot of the time.Quote:
