I don't know, but when I was down there, we went to the Shell Station at 59 and CR10 it is a nice little bait shop. if you just need bait on your way to the Pier.

Honestly, I am not sure Tom. But your speculation has merit as recent rains would have brought an influx of nutrients into eastern LL and a subsequent increase in macroscopic life feeding on that...
Rain/Red minnows shortage this...
