rod building question
I'm getting ready to build a new king rod on a cousins 907xf. I'd like to use fuji k guides. I've used them a few times before but never on a rod of this length or action. Does anyone have any suggestions on numbers of guides and sizes? I'm just looking for a general idea before I order my components and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Depending on the guide setup your going with, I would use no less than 6 plus a tip but you could very easily get away with 8-9 plus a tip if you go with a concept type layout.

I have no experience with the concept layout but I do know that I'll be using a penn ssv 6500 bls on it with 15 lb mono. To the best of my knowledge, the concept layout is usually used with braid or am I way off with that? I'm am just looking to maximize my casting distance of cigar minnows being that this will be my first dedicated snobbling rod.

If it's a cig rod and your going to be using mono, the standard come of flight layout will be sufficient. 6 guides plus a tip should be fine for this rod but without actually pulling on the blank and laying guides out I can't say 100% that it might could use an extra guide.

Okay great. I'll be ordering my components in the next few days and I'll order a few extra guides. They will be used eventually if not on this build. Thank you for your time and suggestions. I've seen several of your builds and I really admire your work.

I recently built a 907xf and I built it with k frames and I used 40j double and 30-25-20-16-12 in singles with a ten tip.
