Bought a chunk of nylon dock line rope at a yard sale. I'd like to replace that cheapo poly rope pier nets come with and put this new stuff on but don't know how to go about it. Anyone got any pointers? Thank you.

https://youtu.be/QeYBkMCQ8WYttps://y.../QeYBkMCQ8WYou tube ,eye splice braided line......I would be glad to do it if I was there......Haywire might do it?
I've never tried splicing double braided line---seen instructions, but haven't done it. I fastened the line on my net by using a heavy duty sewing awl to actually stitch the lines together, then whipping the doubled line. It'll last longer than the rope itself.
I saw Todd on the pier and showed him how I'd done it.
Oops .......thinking 3 strand nylon.....I saw dock line
Bill,
Appreciate the response, but this is not regular 3 strand rope, but dock line that slim called 12 strand with an inner core. I know there are ways to do it, but I don't know how. Haywires rope is sewn nicely, but I don't have the necessary equipment for that either. I have been told Doug West knows how and does a great job. Saw him on the pier today, but he had gone by the time I learned he knows how. Anyhow, thanks for the reply.
Todd , might try Brunson's in Foley ? If they can not braid the line perhaps they have needles and thread .
I'll try them Danny. I live just down the road from there but, I was reluctant to have them try it since I didn't buy it there. If I can't get ahold of Doug West I'll try them next. Thanks.

After watching this I think a bowlin would work just fine for me
I doubled my line, stitched it twice 90', wrapped, whipped and super glued.
After watching, I lost track of all the marks. I'd never be able to get it right! Bronson's sounds better and better since I don't have a fid or two awls. :bang
