i wanna build a rod for my vs 100 but wanted to ask you guys opinion on what blank i should get i want it to be a 7'6" and i want to use it for basically everything but mostly trout and other inshore species but want to throw a cig with it a kings to. was thinking about this one. ISP764

You might want to look at the rain shadow Ip903.
The batson xp963 and xp964 are both great rods for those applications. The 963 is more of a light bait rod where as the 964 is better for artificials.

The IP963 doesn't have enought a$$, but the XP964 does. I built myself and Peaches rods on the XP964. They are great for throwing stick baits, and you can snobble small to medium cigs with. If your interested in the guide layout I used and components, I have the paperwork on the rod here at the house.
when it comes to @$$ on the IP963 your right OPP theres not much there I have caught kings on my IP963 but not intentionally I mainly use it for trout and other inshore species.Quote:
