A bigger mouthed fish (like a bull red, ling or amberjack) it may not matter, but even kings like to eat them head first ;-)

Honestly, I am not sure Tom. But your speculation has merit as recent rains would have brought an influx of nutrients into eastern LL and a subsequent increase in macroscopic life feeding on that...
Rain/Red minnows shortage this...
