Rustic Cobia Keepsake
It took a couple years to get around to making it, but here is my alternative to a taxidermy reproduction. It will hang in my shop.
The boards are from a pallet and are 40 inches long. The fish is pretty close to scale and about the size of the one I caught.Last edited by Kevin E.; 05-29-2018 at 06:11 PM.

Honestly, I am not sure Tom. But your speculation has merit as recent rains would have brought an influx of nutrients into eastern LL and a subsequent increase in macroscopic life feeding on that...
Rain/Red minnows shortage this...
