After your discription of vacation and work....I highly dought lazy fits in to that discription. ....you have a net I don't care for.....
15-16in net sag (with just the magazine) I am sure a bull red would sag a little more....more or less done unless add a stainless ring in the bottom for net weight so it sinks. .....

I have been on the pier when my net would be blown about 10 to 20 degrees under or away from the pier. The larger mesh and extra ring in the bottom help a little bit. I saw a guy using 2 red bricks in his net one really windy day and it was enough to land pompano and flounder.
You could cut the metal rod and add connector to join back together (the way mine are made) then add new netting.....?? I will let you see mine this trip if it's something you might concider doing....using flat paneled netting this is the only way I have found to due it so far.....but willing to learn
The nets from Brunsons are made from flat panel
netting that is attached to the ring along the top edge
of the netting with twine the same size as netting
using knots like used for net repairs, then the seam
where the ends meet are also sewn together to create
the pouch. They are very good at it and can replace a
net very quickly. You tube netmaking will show how to
make net and repairs with twine and a shuttle

With stainless ring in the bottom opening it up some, the depth now is 12in....but a heavy fish will stretch that some in the depth....I say a good depth....we'll see
Nice job Bill. Beyond my abilities for sure. Like the split ring for new netting when needed and shallow sag.
Very SWEET net, Bill.
It will be yours soon....if early enough coming through Foley do you want me to drop off at Brunson's? I plan on stopping at mamma mia's for a pizza and maybe another dish for dinner & extra's till I hit the grocery store for supplies....if they are still open, or do you want to see it first and do that yourself
Bill,
I sent you a P.M.
