In his "surf fishing equipment" video, he says the rods are 13' 6" one piece (!) blanks, custom build on an out of production Sabre blank (model number not mentioned in the video). Reels are Mitchell 498 4:1 with PUM. Remember he is a commercial pinhooker.
I too made some of these float jigs last year, Caught all our reds and pompano on them tipped with fresh dead shrimp. Was alittle concerned the hooks might be too big. But they seemed ok. We were on the beach in Fort Morgan. Count down is on for our return at the end of March.

Are these the 1/2" or 3/4"?
They are the 3/4" which is the length of the float. Did not see any 1/2". They are the same as the ones in the video. By the way, they are sold.
