Maybe coming to a pier near you in the near future. 1st batch still need a little quality time in the oven to cure the powder paint. These are 1/2oz in light brown with a 1/0 offset octopus hook. Closest color I could come up with to try to match the fiddler crabs I've used from bait shops. These are real popular amongst sheepshead fishermen in Florida. Not sure how they will do in Bama saltwater.

What do you tip them with?
This site says fiddlers, but also "mussels, clams, shrimp and other crabs". Might have to get some if the pier is open when the sheepies start biting.Quote:

The verdict is still out on how effective these will be on the pier. The couple of days I fished the pier there was a stiff current from the East that made using these in the 1/2oz size impractical. I did get a hook up at the pass under the bridge but once the tidal flow picked up they were too light to get down to the fish. I the slower moving water that Captain David lea put me in they worked pretty good but I did just as well with a Carolina rig and small treble hook. I hope to make some heavier to bring back next trip and with some different hooks for pompano and flounder.
I'm going to need to take the basic course in using those jigs. Never heard of them before.
Football heads are good on rocky bottoms for smallmouth and rocker hooks are hot for flounder on east coast. I can't help but think that's a winner. Only problem is where do the rest of us find them?
