upgrading drag washers
I picked up a penn 705z off ebay and the drag is a little sticky. I want to upgrade my drag but im not sure what I need to buy. Any info will help. Thanks, James

I think the penn ht-100 for your reel plenty on ebay....but J&M would have them too if you are that way

Pier#r, I was looking at that site for the drag stack and they have a spool with the drag set included. Do you know if that's the upgraded HT-100 or the original set? I like having a extra spool I'm my tackle bag

You'll need part number 56-720SP for your 712z Carl. It includes a whole new stack of three HT-100 carbon fiber washers, metal washers and a new retaining ring. Just pry out the retainer and it's an easy DIY project. Some Cal's or Shimano drag grease on the HT-100's really smooths out the drag.
