Cool Pic from a Friend
Buddy of mine lives in NC, and fishes the Outer Banks quite a bit, he sent me a cool pic from earlier this fall.
One of the few places a surf fishermen has to worry about the wild horses messing up his set.

one of my favorite places. it's the only place i have ever been that i quit fishing because i was tired of catching fish.

Honestly, I am not sure Tom. But your speculation has merit as recent rains would have brought an influx of nutrients into eastern LL and a subsequent increase in macroscopic life feeding on that...
