We are coming down next Saturday and I was wanting to know what are some of the good local places to eat. We have not been in the Orange Beach area in a long time so I thought some local knowledge would help us find a couple good places. Thanks

Doc's Seafood -26029 Canal Rd., Orange Beach (Best Shrimp)
Original Oyster House - 701 Gulf Shores Pkwy., Gulf Shores (Everything is good, Great salad bar)
ACME Oyster House - 216 E 24th Ave., Gulf Shores (Try the Chargrilled Oysters)
These are our 3 favorite places to eat.
DeSoto's, Kitty's Cafe, Wolf Bay Lodge, Fin and Fork, plenty of others. If you want a treat try Jessie's in Magnolia Springs. It's spendy but very good.
Doc's, fin and fork, and Bills were three places we tried amd enjoyed on our last trip down. If you go to fin and fork, try the crab beignets. I'd go there again just for the appetizers.
We've enjoyed Fin and Fork and Cobalt Restaurants in Orange Beach. Cobalt is just on the Northeast side of the big bridge. Fin and Fork is west of the big bridge (closer to Gulf Shores) and also on the Beach Blvd. I agree with David Lea about Jesse's in Magnolia Springs. Their lunch menu is less expensive.

We like Flippers at Bear Point Marina especially if you want to avoid the crowd.
The Cork Room , expensive and fancy , my wife took me to it for my 50th birthday , it was awesome ! Great steaks and seared tuna!
+1 on Flippers also like Fishers (downstairs) and Tacky Jacks in Orange Beach. The Gulf can be crowded but it’s a decent atmosphere with food options and outside seating right on the sea wall at Perdido Pass. I only mention it so you can observe some fishing while eating and having a drink. Be prepared it is not a casual sit down type of deal.
We like to watch the sunset and dolphins from the deck at Flipper’s.
Sunday Brunch at Cobalt you will not go away hungry .
Happy Hour specials at Cobalt for a bargain and good eats.
I like Pirates Cove...the burgers...and Gulf Shores diner...the steaks....
Yes you won't go wrong at Jessie's.
Fish river grill for the reuben sandwich & swamp soup is a must have when I'm down there, Doc's , crico's for the lunch pizza & salad special (all you can eat ) for about 8.00 drink included.....I eat in most of the time
believe Doc's in orange beach will fry your cleaned fish for not to much....maybe the pirice of a dinner 12.00???
I love Fish River Grill's "Swamp Soup" (turnip greens and bean soup). We eat at the one in Foley all the time! I fix fish all the time at home, so when I go out, I have fried shrimp lots of times. I like the offerings at Fish River Grill and if you've never tried "David's Catfish House" in Atmore -- give it a try sometime. Their popcorn shrimp is more than you can eat and they have a really delicious sweet slaw.
I love the swamp soup as well, never heard of it until I ate at Fish River Grill. I make it at home now, but a real hearty version more like a Chili, with plenty of greens, beans and sausage. One batch will last me awhile, no one else here will touch it.
Fresh fish menu- Mikees's blackened is hard to beat
Fin and Fork- IMO the best on the island
Big Mike's- Steaks are excellent
Doc's- basic fried food but good and reasonable
DeSoto's- good food
Cobalt- Close 2nd overall to Fin and Fork
Flora Bama Yacht Club- small menu but very good food and fun place
Gotta agree about the Swamp Soup at FRG.
I make it at home quite a bit too. In a larger quantity it makes a whole meal.
O.K. Tuck,
I think this is the one going around now.

Like Bill, I don't use the Knorr mix either but I'm sure it's good.
I mostly use Connecuh (sp?) sausage and Louisiana hot sauce (with the red ball on the bottle) and frozen turnip greens. Hard to beat!!!!!
I tried Flora Bama yacht club in May. The first and Last time. Food was fair but the service was absolutely terrible. Too many good places to waste my time and money on this one.
