Had hoped not to drill through the chest and make it unusable for anything else. Course, after having fish (hopefully) in it all week, not sure it will be fit for any other use.
Just drill the holes and make it your official fishing cooler. If you opt for putting the rod holders on the front you can put a piece of wood between the holder and cooler at the top and it will give you a little more head clearance. I am 5'8 and had no problem with head clearance.Quote:

I have a cube cooler and I put my rod holders on the front. I am 6 foot 1 and my rods don't hit me when I roll the cooler

Can't wait to meet pier#r and learn from him. Sept. seems a long way off.
Will be there Sept. 7 to 14 myself.
I don't drill all the way thru. I use Sheetrock anchor and no problem yet.
