I bought a two wheel cart ( hand trucks) and strapped my cart/ cooler to those and seems to work well and have found uses for the hand trucks at home. Still use the rod holders. Strapped tackle box and 5 gal bucket on and off we go.

Kinda thinking the same way about dual purpose coach. I can just pop off the bait cutting/tool holder table, leaving the mount attached (will have to when I put it back on my canoe anyway). Don't mind if there are rod holders/storage compartment left on for camping or whatever.Quote:

I'm assuming the bolt is used to elevate the butt of the rod out of the moisture? Can I also assume the water will drain enough or quickly enough with the bolt installed?Quote:

all of this is a learning process that never ends. after each trip I came back home and made and prepared for the next one....whether the coolers to gaff's, jigs,leaders....it never ends...and part of the experience for me along with the forum and people we meet that are so willing to share there knowledge to reduce our mistakes
Go to daddy I guess. Mine either found some way to earn it or I always had some unpleasant task that needed doing. I know I sound like an old fart saying this but my buddy from across the street and I would knock on doors until we found someone that would pay us $5 to mow or rake their yard. Got us into the movie and enough left over to buy a girl some jujubees. That was probably 6/7/8th grade years.
I guess that $5 would be $25 or $30 now but the same principle. My youngest would hit the woods and gather lighter pine, chop it up and sell it on a street corner. No end to the number ways to make a buck if you get off your ass and work a little.
