I was down for a month several years ago and I had some of those bleeding red treble hooks. We were snobbling cigs and catching decent Spanish. I promise the Spanish were circling my cigs and leaving and hitting others. After a few days I don't think they helped at all and went back to black nickel color hooks.
Might be different on a spoons.

i've never understood why fish will "like" a red hook but can't "see" red line (i.e. cajun line). i'm sure that it's something to do with the water column or clarity but it just seems contradictory.
