Something interesting that I found, and I'll be the first one to say that I'm not going to test it, is that according to Baldwin Co. GIS mapping, the incorporated city limits of OB do not seem to reach all the way to the water over the entire stretch of beach. There are some spots that seem to be "no mans land". It doesn't change anything for me as I don't expect the average LEO to know anything about this, but it did stimulate some thought.
