Where can you get live eels around here? J&M? I wish I'd had a few last Tuesday when those two ling were hanging around the octi.
Blue crab would be better this time of year.
They don't call them "Coco colored crab-crunchers" for nothing.

Sometimes it is a matter of luck, timing, and the Fishing God smiling down on you. My last legal Cobia was October 2012 and caught on a jig with a Gulp Shrimp. I was standing at the cleaning station and glanced over the side and saw a cruiser gliding by and grabbed my nearby Flounder rod and flipped the Gulp Shrimp on a jig just in front of him. He inhaled it immediately and I considered myself fortunate to have him on the pier about 15 minutes later. Not a monster but legal with a couple inches to spare. He had an even larger friend with him that quickly disappeared when the first one realized he was hooked. What a nice way to take a break from the Flounder I was cleaning. Never pass up an opportunity to put a hook in front of a Cobia regardless of what is on the hook. They are not always picky about what they will take.
