amen to that: it is a charlie foxtrot; and most folks don't pay and are never asked. But whenever I went out there, I would get charged so I bought the 60$ multi-pass to avoid the hassle.

Re: Fort Morgan Point
The one time I've been there, I was just looking - went past the booth, without paying, to turn around so I could leave. The lady came running out of the booth yelling at me. Thought she was going to blow an aneurysm.
Fish. Just fish.

NOPE. Fort Morgan Historical Site is a property of the Alabama Historical Commission, State of Alabama Historic Preservation Office. Its not Federal. Ferry Landing is operated by ALDOT. Boat Ramps are maintained by ADCNR-MRD. But it is all on Fort Morgan Historical Site lands under an agreement with the Historical Commission.
The areas west, south and east the low concrete wall that surrounds the site are Federal.

Re: Fort Morgan Point
So does it cost 5.00 to fish the pier or not? No real clear answer as of yet.

Thats ultimately up to the people who run the site, so I am really not sure. Havent personally been down there in years and only launched there once.Carl

I guess we still need to find out. :wall: Next time one of us goes there, ask the woman who she is working for as well. I'd like to know where the $$$ go. Maybe she's just working on her own personal retirement account. So does it cost 5.00 to fish the pier or not?

Re: Fort Morgan Point
Well I have been out to the pier there @ 5 or 6 time now and have alays paid the 5.00 either to the person in the booth or the honor box. I have seen one fisherman, more than one fisherman and families with children who just "walk" out there to take pics, catch crabs, etc and they did not pay. So I guess it's just one of those questions that has no answer.

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for an abundant fishery and a magnificent pier, from which to access that fishery. I'm thankful for the morning view of the sunrise and what a spectacular view it is...
Happy Thanksgiving!
