The rubber tires tend to sink in the sand, where the Wheeleez tires roll on top of the sand. Wheeleez tires are really pricey because they really work on sand, super pliable and about 2 or 3 PSI.
The bid issue with anything on the sand is weight; don't the cart with anything you don't absolutely have to have that trip!
I have a couple Wheeleez Beach Carts and they are great, but like anything else, the more you load it, the harder it is to pull in the sand.
If you're looking for cheap and something to be used in the sand, check out some snow sleds. A very knowledgable forum member has been known to sled the beaches in search of some fishes!
Well I'm kinda leaning towards the Berkley. May not be the very best bet for the Gulf, but up here in Wisconsin on Lake Superior it may be the best of both worlds.
"You strangely interest me, stranger". Never would have thought of that. A toboggan might slide across sand or pavement if not loaded too heavily. People may look at someone with such a rig as a real idiot...but it's not like that has never happened before!!!!
A toboggan would actually be a good idea, and we have several. But there is no chance in hell I'm going to transport it one thousand, three hundred and forty one. one miles! We're trying to get away from anything winter! LOL!
i bought a collapsible garden cart at sam's and added rod holders.
I'm thinking ,David , Pier#r uses a plastic sled to transport rods ,reels cooler ,bait ,ghost shrimp sucker ......... over the beach sands and it seems to do a great job for him . If not mistaken in the forum archives there is a discussion concerning rigging a sled for this purpose .???Quote:

one of those portable concrete mixing tubs..... would work too....leave it behind for the 13.00...just add a rope and go...maybe a couple bungee's too
