The Zebco Cardinal is the Crown Prince of the old school spinning reels. The 6's and 7's are the saltwater versions although I have used the 4's extensively for spanish and reds and they have worked perfectly. I fought a tarpon for 30 minutes last summer off the GSPP on a Cardinal 7 and had him about half way back in before he pulled the hook on a bomber pogy.

So yes. Get the Cardinal. Always.
