    Re: Pier Cart Possibilities!

I need to make a few fine adjustments, but here's the general idea...

How do you have the rod tubes mounted? Give us a close up picture if you would, because the way I see it you're going to want to mount them better than how it is now.

    Re: Pier Cart Possibilities!

He attached angles/shelf mounts to the frame of the cart, and has the rod holders attached with metal hose clamps.
Currently only one clamp per, needs two. I foresee possible problems with how sturdy the attachment to the cart frame is, if it is just one bolt it'll likely fail, or the angles may bend/break over time. I'd figure a way to attach to the upper part of the bucket too.

    It looks really good.
Not everyone needs a 5' long 150qt cooler, you can haul all you need in that.

    Re: Pier Cart Possibilities!

chile is correct. I had a brain fart and only grabbed 4 hose clamps, I need 4 more. The "L" brackets are pretty stong. I'm going to use some heavy duty zip ties to tie the rod holders into the top of the bucket. I'm also going to cut grooves in the rod holders for the reels to slide into. This cart will be used maybe 3-4 times a year, so it doesn't have to be a tank. Like I said, this is essentially the prototype...Thanks for the input!

    Re: Pier Cart Possibilities!

Ironman could probably build a tank for a cart.

Maybe one day someone will invent a rideable hovercart so we can float to the the octi or jetties using a directional jet pack.

Then someone will invent electric fishing line so when you hook a fish, you just shock it and reel in the stunned carcass.

Of course, only the cool kids will own these contraptions. 8)

Not in our lifetime, though. Thank goodness.

    I stand corrected. ???

Maybe it will happen in our lifetime...

I've seen your work brother. I bet you could build a Johnny 5 cart complete with laser googan line cutting technology.
