A question for you fellows, no rewards offered.

Has anyone talked to anyone who has been catching anything along the Gulf Shore? Not only the area around here, but: P'cola, and all the little beach towns in between, Panama City, Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe or along the beach towns to the West. Are the fish biting anywhere? I might give a beer to the guy that comes up with the best story as long as it is NOT a story. My fishing buddy, Minnesota, is getting desperate, not counting the head boats and the charter, he has not even had HAD A BITE from the shore or the pier in the 2 months that he has been down here. And we fish at least 5 times a week.

Check the Alabama coastal and boat section, the post of Little Lagoon. That seems to be the best bet right now.
ON the last page (page 2) it was posted on the 20th "Flounder have been pretty active and easy to find recently. Good luck."

Try Destin, Read the post I made in Jan and check pier# reply to "Destin Pass Bridge" in the "OUTSIDE Alabama fishing report section. Also Bill Dance was catching Sheeps there.

someone posted recently about the fishing camp Marina near Ft Morgan.... catch sheeps against the bulk head there, they charge 4 buck to fish it....worth a try on a nice day. I would use live shrimp and maybe a fiddler, if near low tide you might find some hermit crabs near Navy Cove, (near the end of the road where you see drive path TO THE Water from the road, no trees there)

If I keep this up, just look for my pickup lol

Hey PopTop you're a buddy, Fishing Camp Marina, huh? Is it past the old pier/boat landing and past the ticket booth or on the East side of them? It's getting close to beer time!

From what I have been reading I don't think any of the places you ask about are doing much catching. In my humble opinion, not a a lot of fish are ever caught north of a line running west of Clearwater Florida to the coast of Texas From December thru mid March, especially by folks who come to those areas for a week or a couple of months. Yes some fish are caught above that line most years but not many. This year has been exceptionally bad for some reason. During the many years I spent fishing inland waters around Titusville Florida I found that I could catch fish during the months noted above, but I had to really work for them and know the waters I was fishing. Living there and fishing all the time plus owning a couple of boats gave me an advantage. For those who came there for just a short time never did near as well. I think what we are reading on here about Little Lagoon is a good example of what I'm saying. The folks who are taking fish from there right now are locals, they know the water and have the equipment to access it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid of what you say is true Big Dawg, but it's the third period and I'm starting to scramble.

Check out the Pensacola fishing report, sounds like they have been having some good luck inshore with trout and reds.
