Ospreys are all over the Gulf Coast, them & Bald eagles.
It has been nice to see their resurgence over the last 15-20 years, another habitat/nesting conservation success story.
Take a trip to Fort Pickens sometime, literally dozens of huge nests in the trees, all in very close proximity to each other.
Or go up to any of the big catfish farming areas, you'll see lots of Osprey & Bald eagles.

Saw a Bald Eagle in Perdido Key a couple of weeks ago.
I see a few bald eagles from time to time here in Elmore county, they are always on the move though. I see a LOT of kestrels, coopers, and red tail Hawks around my house.
I like driving through the state park to get to te pier to see the Ospreys. When they fly over the pier I kinda "root" for him hoping he'll catch a fish.
There are several nesting pairs of Osprey around Guntersville Lake, with nests on power transmission towers and radio towers. If you are close enough when they come out of the water and do their "shudder/shake", it sounds like someone shaking out a wet blanket. They have been known to lift over 7 pounds!
Has anybody seen an update on the dead eagle they found by the zip slide.Was wondering if it was one of the pair nesting in the park.
