Did I ever mention that I liked the Daiwa BG, but it kept having problems with it catching line back under the spool, and I tried many solutions to no avail.
Different lines, line lays, less line and windy or little wind.
Kept doing it.
Like wind knots around and behind the spool.
It went back, exchanged for a Penn Battle II 4000.
Not a single hiccup out of the Battle II yetRagnar Benson:
Never, under any circumstances, ever become a refugee.
Die if you must, but die on your home turf with your face to the wind, not in some stinking hellhole 2,000 kilometers away, among people you neither know nor care about.

I have the daiwa BG 4000 and the opus plus A 5000. I've used both for more than a year of striper fishing with zero problems so far. I've never used the Battle ll series, but they feel pretty nice when I handle the display models.
Since this is a rod thread, I suppose I should say that I really like the uglystik inshore select series with an appropriately sized reel. The Mitchell 198 is an excellent match.
er... I'm sounding like a broken record. I said almost the same thing in this thread several months ago. Must be my age catching up with me.Last edited by fordguy; 04-16-2018 at 03:45 PM.

The possibilties are endless, I am content with Penn Battalion rods of any length and flex. If it feels good to you, fish it.
A quick note that I am not a lawyer and neither are most people providing the information here that I found on the internet. I did a quick internet search which suggested that drone fishing was...
Do the fish stand a chance?
