I drive from Guntersville to the Gulf and fish pier once or twice a year. I usually just bring some of my bass spinning gear.
I’m looking for a quality 2-piece spinning rod that won’t break the bank with just a little more backbone than my bass rods. Would flip docks with it at the lake when I’m not at the pier. Any suggedtions? Been looking on Internet and just haven’t found much.
What size reel are you looking to put on it?
What ever you get make sure it has a longer grip....16in from butt to the center of reel seat....better leverage for fighting fish......other then that it is personal preference

BTW, I've been using a 6'6" BPS Tourney Special (2-piece) as my jigging rod for spanish for several years now.
I use 6# mono and I can flip 2# mackerel over the rail with it!

I have a 2500 Spirex I’m going to put on it.
I know that’s a little bass-ish. Think I’m going to put braid on first and then some mono.

A 4000 series reel is a good all around size
