It depends on what he means by "cheap shit". If it had Bill Dance's name slapped on it or a walmart combo then yea I would pass, but most of these brands offer nice reels for less money. I had a Shimano Sedona for 7 years that caught more fish than most of my high dollar reels combined..just sayin...
Fish can't tell the difference.
