I've been seriously considering a conflict 2500 and another st.croix rod.

It depends on what he means by "cheap shit". If it had Bill Dance's name slapped on it or a walmart combo then yea I would pass, but most of these brands offer nice reels for less money. I had a Shimano Sedona for 7 years that caught more fish than most of my high dollar reels combined..just sayin...

What he said. I have caught more fish off my Abu Garcia Cadinal 102i than any of my other reels. Specks, reds, spanish, sheepshead, and a few kings(on 6# test) just to name a few. Have had it for 3 years now and it shows no signs of giving up.Quote:
