Looks good grasshopper, but the next time your in ask me show the trick on getting the chevrons perfectly alined.
I am always up to learn anything new that might aid in advancing my knowledge and skill in rod building. I must say without your aid and mentoring I wouldn't be anywhere near the rod builder that I am today. That's the reason I worked so hard to find that thing from last summer. Once again thank you for everything you have done to help me.
Place an 8' fluorescent a couple feet above your lathe. This creates a perfectly strait light line on the blank. Once your finished making your first series of wraps, use your pointed burnishing tool to line the "X" 's perfectly. Look at the light line in the close-up pic of the chevron and you can see what I'm talking about. Don't worry,it only took me 10 years to figure that one out. Awesome job buddy......
well John, not even aimed at me and I still learned something REALLY helpful, been using a ruler and it works, but not great, how much does that light cost?
Kudos on the rod :headbang: She is awfully purty 8)
Had a chance to test her on a cobe yet?
Not yet. The one I did catch was on my old beater tower rod.
