The IP963 doesn't have enought a$$, but the XP964 does. I built myself and Peaches rods on the XP964. They are great for throwing stick baits, and you can snobble small to medium cigs with. If your interested in the guide layout I used and components, I have the paperwork on the rod here at the house.

when it comes to @$$ on the IP963 your right OPP theres not much there I have caught kings on my IP963 but not intentionally I mainly use it for trout and other inshore species.

Noah I would take Jebs advice and build the XP964

thanks for the offer Jeb, is this the same blank you made for the trout rod with the black VS you showed me a while back? I'm looking to build a trout rod.
