I use a size 6 sabiki. I normally cut them in half to make them easier to handle and to be economical.
My livebait preferences that are normally caught from GSSP pier are in order:
1. Spanish sardine aka herring.
2. Threadfin herring aka greenback.
3. Scaled sardine aka LY.
4. Whatever else I might catch.
[size=12pt] Our buddy Lou swears that them Crazyfish are the only way to go. That or sit on a bench and beg for the fish others catch, which btw, works pretty well for him!

ROFLMAO!!
He is the only person I've ever seen leave the pier with an ice chest full of fish having never wet a line. :moon:
@ DRH -- never thought about cutting them in half - great idea!
Got my 560L yesterday. All spooled up and ready for a little surgery
My little one acts just like Lou I ask her if she wanted to fish and her reply was "lets take a break"
# 10 gold hooks work just as good, and better for some baits like cigs (normally on piers farther east)
Load a light rod with some 4 lb fluorocarbon slide on a few gold hooks and tie them as dropper loops, sinker on the bottom. yeah sabiki's are cheap... but gold hooks are even cheaper
Thanks Guys, as always, I do appreciate all your help.
