706z or 105
I have inherited a 706z bailess and a 105. Both generally in good condition, except the 105 housing is oxidizing, but I am resurfacing it. Main question...since I have discovered the potential of the state pier I am ditching surf fishing down Ft. Morgan for now(no sand fleas, too far, and doesn't seem to be the same action in the past). Between the 706z and 105, which would be the best for king/cobia? I am assuming the 706, but just want get some "expert" advice. I have 20lb mono on it right now, and want to pair it with a 7'-8' medium heavy action rod.

A 706 is a classic def would use. Heck I use mine for literally everything

The 100 series was Penn's first cheep import reel and I think it was made by Ryobi. For a 29 to $39 reel it held up fair as long as it didn't get fished hard. I'm not saying it won't work,but don't be upset if it craps out on the first thing you hook.

The first reel Penn had made overseas was a solid black Spinfisher look-a-like and it was a great reel because it was a copy of a Spinfisher. What was the name of that reel #r?
