We are staying at the Four Seasons of Romar Beach the second week in July. It has its own pier out in the Gulf. Has anyone ever fished that pier? We usually fish the State Park Pier. The Four Seasons pier doesnt go out near as far as the State Park Pier. Would we be wasting our time fishing the Four Seasons pier?

I wouldn't say wasting time, but your catching options are far more limited at Four Seasons as it is currently very shallow there...

IF the water is calm and fairly clear you should do ok with flounder, whiting and trout especially around the lights at night.
And maybe ladyfish, blue runners and possibly even spanish mackerel from the end (with lures) casting off the end early morning and late afternoon.
We have wore the spanish mackerels out there. the occasional king also passes by. I also saw several nice flounder caught a couple weeks ago. That's where we always stay just because of the pier.
Whats the best rigs and baits to use on this pier?
Most of the Spanish mackerels were caught on bubble rigs. The flounders on carolina rigged minnowsQuote:

I have caught monster shark every trip in the 6 to 8’ range. You are not supposed to fish for shark but if they bite?
You will have fun. Get a bubble rig, gottcha, Large fresh Shrimp,& bull minnows. You will catch fish.
I just left and will come again first week of Sept.
