I tried the sand shrimp about 10 days ago. Smeared into the hair on a pompano teaser fly and on the jig itself. I had no luck. Maybe the fish weren't there but I wouldn't buy it by the gallon just in case. I have seen a 1/2oz white Looney jig tipped with a belly strip out fish live bull minnows but the old guy using the jig has some skills that I don't.

I use mullet procure on my soft plastic paddle tails for redfish and flounder on the lagoon when bouncing the bottom. I have not had as much success with procure as I have had using gulp baits , especially for flounder with the 3" shrimp using a jig head . Procure stays on the soft plastics really well and is extremely oily , but it just isn't as big of a hype as gulp is because it doesn't work as well in my past experiences.
That is true , you don't need a scent to catch flounder . Throwing any type of minnow imitating lure including Matrix Shad or DOA CAL paddle tails are excellent on a light jig head hovering over the bottom. Flounder are sight feeders anyway. They wait to ambush any baitfish coming in there path and then they'll attack it. Attractant helps them hold on a little longer if you're not confident or smooth enough with the hook set . Also , it's a big self confidence thing as well cause we all know confidence is a key factor while fishing .Last edited by stephen.franklin; 04-01-2016 at 09:51 AM.

Come November, there's some really fun and productive fishing in store for the pier fisherman. One of my favorites is the whiting a hard-pulling, great eating fish and when the schools are in, you...
