This Weekend!
Going to the Gulf this weekend. Anybody want to help out a newbie to king fishing from the pier? It would be greatly appreciated! I have fished the pier many times but never for the kings at the end. Wanting to give it a try and learn how to do it the right way!

Re: This Weekend!
You will find plenty of people to help you out most everyone is willing to help. Just watch for a while and ask questions on anything you don't understand.

[font=comic sans ms][size=12pt]Drummond, you picked a good weekend to get some help and meet a few forum members. This weekend is the first anniversary of our little forum and we have suggested that those who make it out to the pier on Saturday bring something to share for share such as chicken, pizza, cake, pie, etc… for lunch on the Octi, but not mandatory. Hope to see at the pier.

Re: This Weekend!
I am going to Bass Pro tonight to pick a couple of things up. Getting 7-6 mh spinning combo, probably #17 line?, 7 strand wire leader, and 4/0 circles? Anything I need to add?
From what I understand basically my freshwater gear will work for flounder, reds, and trout. Just new to the Mackerel side of things.

Re: This Weekend!
if your new to mackerel fishing might want to start with a treble...
but if you do use a circle.. DO NOT SET THE HOOK...
