Flyguy, I don't do much fly-fishing, but when I do it is usually with a popper of some sort, since this is a saltwater forum I kind of figured small dry flies would not come up. I don't have any problem when using 6lb tippet on popping bugs for bream fishing. I did do some trout fishing several years when I visited the mountains, using a 2# tippet I used an improve clinch knot when using flies with smaller than number 12 hooks

I will use #22, 24 & 26's when I tie a trico, smaller than that I have trouble tying the fly, and also tying the fly on to the tippet. I have seen guys use flies as small as a #32 and catch nice sized fish with them. They do miss a few of them with that sized hook. Good Luck and tight lines.

I love the albright for small line to big test spanish leaders, but durn it is hard for me to tie it for some reason. I have had to lay it on on a flat surface and use Duct tape to hold one loop end....
Come November, there's some really fun and productive fishing in store for the pier fisherman. One of my favorites is the whiting a hard-pulling, great eating fish and when the schools are in, you...
