I had a school like that hit the beach at Fort Morgan a few years ago...all 3 rods bent over and I managed to get bullreds in...Lots of work that evening.

Honestly, I am not sure Tom. But your speculation has merit as recent rains would have brought an influx of nutrients into eastern LL and a subsequent increase in macroscopic life feeding on that...
