Since the operative word is "decent", I'd say early to mid-April. Typically, the sheepshead "he'n and she'n" gets done by about the end of the first week of April. King bite gets good about that time.

2-20-2018 one was caught off the pier, I have seen kings jump out at Ft. Morgan just East of the lighthouse maybe as close as 1/3 mile from shore in March once.
could be March/April depending on water temp and bait.. I used to cobia fish but my buddy john gains hasn't see or caught any the last few years.. they got over fished and don't see them like we used...
