Thanks for letting know guys what allows or not during Alabama saltwater fishing time. If I ever plan on visit that area this information will be very useful.

NA beer is about 0.5% and not allowed when driving, so I would not be too sure about it being OK on the pier. I would check with a Ranger, better safe than sorry.

Not allowed when driving? I've asked a few officers if it was ok to drink it while driving. They said it seemed ok to them. Guess its up to the personal officers discression.

AA: In response to your question, once you purchase an on 12-19, once you purchase an Alabama Lifetime License it is good for your lifetime, regardless of any change of State of Residence. This info comes from Michelle McMeans at DNCR in Montgomery.

Use to live in Alabama and loved the fishing in that state. I now fish a lot in Panama City and fish both piers and off shore. I'm over 65 and a year pier license is $45 ($90 if under 65) no matter where you live. A non resident saltwater license is $47 and not required for pier fishing but needed to go out in boat or fish the beach. (Live in Georgia)

If I'm reading this right a year Alabama pier license is $320 plus a $11 year saltwater pier license. Gee, isn't that a little steep to be able to fish off the end of a pier.

Alabama Saltwater license (and ALL other licenses) are EXPIRED today and due for renewal...

Hi, my family is coming to visit MID November 2016 (next month). We're staying on lagoon side in Gulf Shores. We'll have a pier/dock to fish from. I'm curious on if anyone has advise for me? I'd like to know what the best tackle set up? bait suggestions for that type of year. Thanks. PS. Do I need a license? If so what kind if it's only for a couple of days.

Dude---you are asking your questions in the way wrong place, except, yes, you need a license, which you'd know if you read this thread.

Do a little research here on the forum, use the search feature. Your questions have been asked and answered repeatedly. Good fishing.

Yes for the license, fresh dead shrimp (peeled tail) carolina rigged 1/0 or smaller hook, for flounder I like a kahle hook or whole live shrimp......then use as they die for the fresh dead......don't leave your rod unattended (in your hands) if you want to keep it.....try under the lights at night too....shrimp under a float, or swimming natural
