I'm coming to pier next weekend but I'm out of Gotchas! Will only be there one day. Coming early so I won't have time to go buy any when I get down there. Will have to order some, so I need to know what size to get. What size is best for spanish?
I think I've been using 3/4 oz. but not sure.
That will work i like the heavy one for casting distance but the lighter one wont sink as quick or have to be worked as hard to keep the in strike zone
Rig it properly. Get a small one. Put a half ounce egg weight above the leader. Use a bubble cork above that. Remove the treble hook from the back and attach another leader with a green straw.

Wally-world in Gulf Shores and J&M have a huge selection of Gotchas. I like the smaller ones in silver/Chrome & red.
Small diamond jigs work good too. As do Looney jigs, get those at J&M.
Once the water warms up a little more, bubble rigs will be hot too.
Are the skippies in yet ?

The 1000 - 1300 series are the 5/8 ounce versions Bubba mentioned.
They are 'killer' when the fish are in close ;-)
I'm not a big fan of the plastic bodies (1400 & 1500 series), but did have good results near the lights under the old Pensacola Bay Fishing Bridge with the 1508 'Yellow Glow'.
And the new 'mylarl bodies (151 series) look good, but i have not tried them or seen them used yet.

This was Beau a couple years ago. He went to the ER and there was 2 hour wait, so he came back and finished fishing for the day and then went and got the Gotcha removed.
I've only had to remove a couple from my hand and finger. I don't use 'em as much as I used to. :(
