The tire/axel package for the large cart runs around $125. Just remember,a wider tire requires a longer axel.
A trip up the beach at Ft. Morgan and back with a loaded cart , ( rods ,reels ,tackle bag ,full cooler ,sandspikes ,bait,( beach chair , umbrella, towels ,and kitchen sink for the wife) with the standard tires easily convinced me that the cost of balloon tires wasn't to high of a price to pay . J&M had the orange ones . The price was cheaper than Wheeleez and no shipping . I look forward to my surf fishing trips now instead of suffering through the trek there and back . When the wife is not going and have only fishing gear and cooler I glide over the sand .
I would have to try something like these....:D
I Can tell you with Confidence that all Black rubber tiles will fail miserably compared to Wheeleez tires. I have done extensive testing.

I was in J&m the other day and he does carry them. Dutch probably didn't see them because they were in the boxes on top shelf above the other numerous other cart parts John stocks.
Pier#r had pictures of a plastic sled of fishing gear just gliding over sand.
The dually cart is mine. It worked better than single tires on sand, BUT it still sucked really bad to pull across a stretch of beach. I bit the bullet for a cart with a set of wheeleez and in my opinion they are a bargain. MUCH easier to pull and worth every penny if you surf fish much.
I modified a large ice fishing sled with the deep sides (11 inches) because I thought the sleds like Pier#er has would be to top heavy and I wanted more room,I mounted rod holders in the back, eye hooks for strapping things in etc. Now I have a lot of room for my cooler, chairs, sand spikes, tackle box, bait buckets etc. but I need a mule or at least some young strong guy to pull it. LOL It does fine in the soft sand going down from the Condo to the beach and not bad in the hard pack for short distances but going back up hill to the condo takes more effort and there is no way I would want to pull it from the fort to the point. I would stick to the kind Pier#er has or get the sand tires.Quote:
