Can't legislate common sense or morality. If those idiots would simply look first, there'd be no problems.
Fish. Just fish.

Dang man, that's crazy! I applaud you for being the better person and keeping your cool. The bad part, if it happened to you it could just as easily happen to a child. Scary to think about.

We can rant and rave all we want on here, but nothing will change until someone is willing to take it to Teresa and Randy, they don't monitor the forum!
I agree with Dick, too many rules already, and most are not enforced anyway.
Sabiki fishing should be a safety rule "UNDERHAND CAST ONLY", violations would be easy to spot.
Something might get done in the name of SAFETY!

Limits on skipjacks and hardtails would just about eliminate the problem . They are harvesting ,not fishing . QUANTITY is what they are after . The fact, that for the most part ,they have little or no reguard for others on the pier is not only a safety issue ,but deters would be fisherpersons and tourist from visiting the pier .

Great idea as usual, Fin. Isn't there already a limit on the amount of baitfish per day, non commercial?

Terry,if it was a attractive long hair brunet lady chances are it was Elena. She is one of the first responders when a person goes down on the pier. She's been in your shoes before, a nasty got-cha plug in the foot sent her to the ER I think.

Whomever it was that was told by one of these "fisherman" that they are selling all these fish needs to call MRD and file a complaint.
Odds are, there "fisherman" don't have a hook & line commercial license. And if they are crossing into FL to sell the fish, its a Federal violation under the Lacey Act.
I know the feds and states have put sting operation place for similar operations in the past, given that they are doing this on a public pier, it will probably get looked into.Carl

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for an abundant fishery and a magnificent pier, from which to access that fishery. I'm thankful for the morning view of the sunrise and what a spectacular view it is...
Happy Thanksgiving!
