unless you have a liver or immune system disorder don't let it bother you.
Odds are about 100000:1 greater that you will die in a car crash on the way,
and about half the chance you will be struck by lighting if you survive the drive over ;-)
what bacteria?????
Vibrio vulnificus , the so-called 'flesh eating bacteria'

It seems every year about this time the media jumps all over these obscure (as in EXTREMELY rare) occurances to warn us how dangerous the water is.
Not that precautions shouldn't be taken, but it's nothing like the chances we take every time we fish in the rain or drive in an automobile.
Oh well. I'm concerned about my little boy, and I really wanna go this weekend.
Ur fine man, like #r said, unless you have a really bad pre-existing problem, don't worry about it.
Like noted:
You are more likely to die in a car crash on the way to the boat ramp than get Vibrio.
Unless your son has a compromised immune system, its not something you need to worry about.
Could it happen? Sure. But then the zombie apocalypse or alien invasion could start this weekend too, right before the giant asteroid hits us.......
Thank you all.
If you don't hug a barnacle covered piling or walk barefooted thru oyster beds, you will be fine.
Also the media is saying not to eat oysters on the half-shell, and I totally think that is a great idea, cuz every oyster someone doesn't eat is one more for me!
As much as the mainstream media and the Resident of The Whitehouse would like America to believe the sky is falling, it is not!
Hope this helps
David, will this go away as the water temps cool?
